Mr. Jordan Chambers is in his 10th year as a Theatre Director and his
first year at Richland High School. He is a graduate of the American
Musical and Dramatics Academy in Los Angeles and University of Texas
at Arlington where he earned his BFA in Theatre Performance. While in
Los Angeles, Mr. Chambers acted for Disney, ABC, Universal Studios,
among others.
- Mr. Chambers’ has directed over 30 shows and was a 2019 6A UIL State
Finalists in One Act Play with his production of Dancing at Lughnasa and
2023's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead was a 6A Regional
finalist. Mr. Chambers' productions have been awarded numerous
honors, including 28 nominations for Casa Manana's Betty Buckley
Awards for Excellence in High School Theatre, winning the Best Play
Award three years in a row for A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2018), Lord
of the Flies (2019) and Hamlet (2021). His students have excelled at the
Texas State Thespian Festival, earning dozens of qualifications for the
National Thespian Festival.

Emma Horn
Meet the Directors

Ms. Horn is so excited to be starting here at Richland. She is a graduate
from The University of North Texas. After her undergraduate, Ms. Horn
pursued Stage Management, Sound Design, and Scenic Design in the Semi-
Professional theatre world. Her passion is to merge the educational and
professional theatre worlds together to give students the best
opportunities.
- Ms. Horn has participated in the Dallas Summer Musical High School
Musical Awards as well as the Betty Lynn Buckley Awards. With over 18
nominations in her first two years of teaching, she was most recently
awarded Excellence in Scenic Design and Excellence in a Musical in 2024 for
the Betty Lynn Buckley Awards.

Acting Courses
Theatre One and Theatre One Select
An introductory course to the art of theatre production and
performance. This class will study aspects of theatre and other
forms of entertainment and their place in our society and world
culture. Students will develop public speaking skills, poise, self-
confidence, and creativity through the exploration of basic acting
techniques, improvisation, and various performance styles.
Theatre 2-4
Students will explore more advanced aspects of theatre
production and performance theory including auditioning
techniques, play analysis, voice, movement, and theatre
history. You will be given the opportunity to stretch your
imagination, to focus your creative energies, and to work
with others dedicated to the art of theatre.
Theatre Production
This is the top-level theatre class offered at Richland High School
and admission is by audition/instructor permission only. This class
will explore advanced aspects of theatre production and theory,
including audition techniques, theatre history and world culture,
theatre as social history and commentary, musical theatre,
theatre literature and script analysis, and acting techniques. This
class will prepare the serious student for theatrical experiences
outside the secondary school environment, whether this be
involvement in college theatre, community theatre, and/or
professional theatre/tv/film.
Musical Theatre
Students demonstrate their skills integrating acting, singing and
choreographed movement to become the all-round performer
through the performance of pieces from published works of
musical theatre. Whether in groups, pairs or solo, candidates
bring character and narrative to life with song and movement in
separately prepared pieces or in a production setting.

Tech Courses
Principles of Technical Theatre
Students will be introduced to the basic
concepts and principles of technical theatre,
specifically in scenic, lighting, sound, props,
costume, hair, and make-up disciplines. This
class will enrich students’ skills in creative
problem-solving, cooperative learning, and
independent thinking. They will develop skills in
team building and leadership and gain an
introductory understanding of the necessity of
technical theatre and art in the modern world.
Students will develop their soft skills such as
communication, time management, network
building, being proactive, and self-awareness.
Advanced Production Design
Students focus on advanced concepts of theatrical
design. Students will use ideas and knowledge
learned in Principles of Technical Theatre to run
specific technical crews efficiently and accurately.
This course will focus on nurturing students'
leadership and management skills. These students
are extremely encouraged to participate in every
production. They will be able to apply their
theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios,
enhancing their problem-solving abilities and
creative thinking. Collaboration is key in this course,
as students will work closely with directors, actors,
and other crew members to bring a cohesive vision
to life on stage. Guest lectures from industry
professionals and hands-on workshops will provide
invaluable insights into the latest trends and
technologies in theatrical production. By the end of
the course, students will have a robust portfolio
showcasing their skills and experiences, preparing
them for future careers in the dynamic world of
theatre and live entertainment.
